Farm Camp Fire burns about 2,500 acres near Mosquero

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) –  The East Mountain Fire burning on the south side of the Capitan Mountains is about 50% contained as of June 6, 2020. It has burned 5.7 acres and was caused by lightning. The Forest Service says that smoke is visible from Highway 220, Airport Road, and the surrounding communities.

Crews will continue to monitor the fire and reinforce the fire line surrounding the fire if needed. The fire started on June 2, 2020 on the Smokey Bear Ranger District in the Lincoln National Forest. Crew
