way kind of came up with two names. We’re gonna name it Steve’s Grill, which was my brother’s name or Garcia’s kitchen. So well, you know which one we ended up that wanted to feed us way, all kinds. They will go in the restaurant business. Maybe we can eat is my dad tried to create a menu. We came up with carnal Allah, flautas, menudo. We know we had to use homemade tortillas, so we’ve always stuck with that. We roasted pill, our own green chili. So that would make Sir Green Chili different than anybody else. After one year, I think my dad closed the door and he said, You guys, I think we’re gonna make it And we’ve been here 36 years from there. It just kind of kept growing. As more of my family members got involved, the more we could grow. Always wanted to stay, have good food at a reasonable price. That was the main thing, he said. Son, I can’t believe we have this from selling beans and chili. Somebody drew a cartoon character of my dad. My dad liked the idea. He said Yes, this do it. So that’s what my dad decided to put himself is treatment. I would just say Thank you so much for patronizing us. We’re a local business, and without you, we don’t have a business.

Garcia’s Kitchen has announced they will be closing the restaurant’s first location in Downtown Albuquerque. The local favorite made the announcement on Facebook Tuesday writing in part, “It is with a heavy heart that we announced we’ll be closing our beloved first location.”Dan Garcia told KOAT the closure was because of COVID-19 related financial hardships. According to the restaurant’s website, Andrew Garcia first opened the restaurant on 4th Street and Mountain in 1975.
